My african marigold flower is dying. How do I cut the dead flowers to encourage more bloomings?

I tried removing the whole faded flowers by yanking it off from the stem. The stem and the root is still intact but without the top part (flower). Is that the right way to encourage blooming?

JUST CUT THEM OFF RIGHT UNDER THE DEAD BLOOM, IT IS CALLED DEAD HEADING*
Reply:You can always go to http://www.1800topsoil.com to see if they have a local pro servicing your area. These guys at http://www.1800topsoil.com are somehow national. I used them in two states. Good luck! Report It

Reply:Just cut with a pair of scissors just above the first leaves you come to below the dead flower. Keep doing this and with the right weather you will have flowers into autumn.
Reply:Just pop them off or cut them off it doesn't matter. Sounds like you are doing exactly what you are supposed to.
