What part of dill do I harvest to make pickles?

I have some dill plants growing to use in making dill pickles, but I'm not sure what part to use. They are starting to flower, and my pickling cucumbers are nowhere near ready. Do I harvest the leaves and save them? Use the flowers? Wait until it goes to seed and use the seeds?

Save the seeds and the leaves. You can harvest the leaves and fry them out by freezing - laying them flat on wax paper and freeze for about an hour. Store in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks. Just before using, squeeze the leaves between your fingers to release the oils and make them like fresh again.
Reply:You use the green leaves.....but some recipes also call for dill seed so you might want to keep them too.
Reply:The ripe seeds.
Reply:sprigs fresh dill weed is what you need.
