Which part of lettuce is the best?

Are the outer greener leaves the best for you? I heard the green parts contain more micronutrients, like with brocolli (the flower bit is better for you, rather than the stem)....

BUT my 15 year old brother who thinks he knows everything, said the outer leaves aren't as healthy.

So just wondering which part is healthier, or whether it doesn't matter.

Which part of lettuce is the best?
the yellow tips are high quality
Reply:I'm not sure, but iceburg lettuce has no nutritional value so stick to baby spinach and other dark green leafies.
Reply:Don't worry about it. Lettuce isn't really very healthy anyway. The best greens are dark green, like: Dandelion, Swiss Chard, Kale, Collard Greens, etc.
Reply:What my mom always said was, "the greener you can get it, the better!" Lettuce itself is generally healthy. Just the greener parts contain more nutrients, like you said, so the greener you can get it, the healthier it is for you. But lettuce is healthy either way.
Reply:the kind that is green and has Caesar dressing on ti
Reply:take into account pesticides being concentrated........and who knows
Reply:It's all good and the greener the better.
