Do you think the option of an abortion encourages unsafe sex?

If baby killing operations were illegal then people would take care of themselves more when it came to 'getting it on'. And probably people wouldnt be as free to give up their woman part (the flower god gave them) to just some Puerto Rican they meet. Right?

i 100% think it encourages safe sex. most people, especially younger people use it as a form of birth control and don't think twice about it. i am 20 years old and i know a few of my friends have had one or more. i think it's ridiculous. if you are resposible enough to have sex be responsible enough to protect yourself and deal with the consequences. what most people dont seem to realize is that by getting an abortion you can actually decrease the chance you have of having a child later in life. it gives people that are irresponsible an easy way out. i only believe we should be able to have an abortion under ceratin circumstances- rape being the main one. but it certainly encourages un safe sex- give people an easy way out and they will take it.

Reply:Absolutely, legal abortion encourages, even PROMOTES, unsafe sex. Today, sex is treated like a competitive sport; a pasttime with no repurcussions or consequences. (except to the innocent babies who are regularly and legally butchered as a result.)

As a society are we really blind to the knowledge that children hold about sex?





The more they know, the more informed, intelligent decisions they can make. If teenage girls knew exactly what an abortion involved, then do you think they would be more likely or less likely to have sex?





If kids were not shielded from knowledge they already possess, then many of these abortions may not even take place.
Reply:If abortion were illegal, it wouldn't prevent people from having careless sex. They would just find unsafe alternatives to having an abortion. Self induced abortion, abortion in alley ways, performed by unlicensed "professionals", with wire hangers.......

Abrotions were very common when they were illegal. Banning them will do nothing to change human nature.

Without repercussions or negative consequences for bad decisions and wrong behavior, you're going to get more bad decisions and wrong behavior

Reply:No, I don't agree with that at all. If that idea worked, then why are there still murders when there is a death penalty? Or why do people not save lots more for retirement when Social Security may not be around.
Reply:well, i live in a lower-middle-class town. i know of nobody who has had an abortion, although i know plenty of teenage mothers. i don't think that an abortion ban is going to affect the actions of drunk, high, horny teens i regards to safe sex. after all, we aren't all christians. many people don't live by the moral code of the bible, because it just isn't that important to them. a law isn't going to change that at all. it's been my observation that laws rarely keep anyone from breaking them. i myself have committed dozens of crimes in my life, and have spent not one hour in jail. so what kind of deterrent is it if it isn't enforced anyway? what I'm trying to say is that people in general don't care whether or not they have permission anyway. they are going to be themselves and do what they enjoy doing.
